Italy will be hosting the XXV Winter Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
Milan-Cortina 2026 will feature iconic venues and beautiful settings, combining the attractions of a modern European metropolis with classic Alpine environments. With an innovative approach, the various events will be staged in different renowned locations.
The region has indeed world-class winter sports venues, ranging from the ice arenas of Milano to the well-established and iconic World Cup and World Championship destinations of Cortina, Bormio, Anterselva and Val di Fiemme.
Livigno will play a major roll by hosting all the snowboard and freestyle skiing events and by awarding the biggest number of Olympic medals, 24 in total against the 16 of Milan and 19 of Cortina. In addition to that, Livigno will be the home of one of the Olympic villages providing accommodation to over 1 000 athletes.
